On arrival of your flight to MEXICO International Airport, welcome and transfer to your centrally located hotel.
Day 2
MEXICO CITY & PYRAMIDS OF TEOTIHUACÁN
Morning visit to the historical center of Mexico City , driving via Reforma Boulevard with its precious Monuments (short photo stops). Visit then the Zocalo main square, the cathedral, have a view on the former Aztec Main Temple and enter the National Palace to let yourself be amazed by the famous Mural Paintings of Diego Rivera. Continue afterwards via a modern highway to the northern exit of the capital. On the way, have a short stop at the Basilica de Guadalupe, the most important catholic holy shrine on Latin American ground, where you see he old and New Basilica, as well as you can take a look on the original piece of cloth, where, as per the legend, the virgin's image has been molded to the young shepherd Juan Diego. Reach in the early afternoon the archaeological site of Teotihuacán. Have lunch at a local restaurant before the visit: see the Temple of Quetzalcoatl , walk along the Road of the Death, have the possibility to climb up the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon and see also the Temple of the Jaguar and the Palace of Quetzalpapalotl . Afternoon return to the city and your hotel.
Day 3
MEXICO CITY - MERIDA
Morning transfer from your hotel to airport MEX to take the flight to Merida . On arrival, have your first panoramic impression of the capital of Yucatan state, also called the” White City ”. After your hotel check-in, have a guided city tour to explore the historical part of Merida: the Main square with the cathedral and the Governor's Palace, the Peon Theatre, the Paseo Montejo as well as many other colonial streets and small places, which make of Merida such a beautiful place. Enjoy a lunch at a centrally located restaurant during the tour.
Evening return transfer from and to your hotel to enjoy your dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 4
UXMAL & KABAH
Visit today the beautiful archaeological sites of Kabah and Uxmal on the so called Puuc-Route. At Uxmal , you will see the Pyramid of the Dwarf, the Nuns' Quadrangle, the Governor's Palace, and House of the Turtles, among others. Enjoy lunch at a typical local yucatecan restaurant before you see Kabah: the “Sac Beh” white paths of the Mayas and the Codz Pop main temple, among others. In the afternoon, return to your hotel in Mérida. Dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 5
MERIDA – CHICHEN ITZA – VALLADOLID
Early morning departure from Mérida in eastern direction. Reach after approx. 2 hours the archaeological site of Chichén Itzá: Visit among others its amazing Kukulkán Pyramid, the Temples of the Warriors and the 1000 columns, as well as the former ceremonial Ball Game and El Caracol (“the Snail”)-Observatory building, which gives testimony of the advanced astronomical knowledge of the ancient Mayan culture. Lunch at a beautiful local restaurant before you proceed to the nearby Valladolid , a colonial town in the yucatecan province, which conserves a lot of history and revolutionary past. Arrive to your overnight hotel with its relaxing garden and pool.
Day 6
VALLADOLID – COBÁ – TULUM – CHETUMAL
Morning departure from Valladolid towards the Caribbean Coast . On the way, have a stop at Cobá, an archaeological site like hidden in the lush green tropical vegetation, which conserves its steep pyramids widely spread over a big area. Continue afterwards towards Tulum, where you enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant before you visit the small archaeological site, which fascinates the visitor with its spectacular position right over the white beach and the crystal clear blue Caribbean . In the afternoon, proceed down to Chetumal, the capital of Quintana Roo state, where you arrival to your overnight hotel.
Day 7
CHETUMAL – BELIZE BORDER – BELIZE CITY- SAN IGNASIO
After breakfast, take advantage at Chetumal with a visit of the beautiful Maya Museum . Afterwards, have the transfer to the border to Belize , where you will be received by your continuing transport and guide. Enjoy a Belize City tour with lunch at local restaurant. Later continue to the city of San Ignacio for accommodation and dinner.
Day 8
SAN IGNASIO – XUNANTUNICH- CAHAL PECH
MELCHOR DE MENCOS- FLORES
This morning you will visit the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich and Cahal pech with lunch al local restaurant. In the afternoon continue to border with Guatemala . After immigration formalities continue to the city of Flores for accommodation and dinner.
Day 9
FLORES-TIKAL-RIO DULCE-RIO HONDO
After breakfast visit the great Mayan Ruins of Tikal National Park. Visit the Central Plaza , Temple IV , V and other interesting sites. Pick-nick lunch inside the park. Later continue to the city of Rio Hondo for accommodation with short photo stop at Rio Dulce on route.
Day 10
RIO HONDO-COPAN-GUATEMALA
Early morning departure to border with Honduras . After immigration formalities, continue to Copan Ruins for visit. This archaeological site is known to be the most artistically advanced and elaborated of all Maya cities. Your visit will include the four basic areas of interest: The Ball Court, the Great Plaza , the Hieroglyphic Stairway and the Acropolis. Lunch at local restaurant in Copan town. Later transfer to border and continue to Guatemala City for hotel for accommodation.
DAY 11
GUATEMALA-ANTIGUA-CHICHICASTENANGO
After breakfast, enjoy a tour of Guatemala City , the National Palace , Metropolitan Cathedral, Central Plaza , commercial and residential zones. At noon continue with a one hour drive to Antigua Guatemala . Lunch at local restaurant upon arrival. In the afternoon visit among others, the Main Plaza, Cathedral, Captains Palace, San Francisco and Capuchinas Church. Continue with a two hour drive to the town of Chichicastenango for accommodation.
DAY 12
CHICHICASTENANGO-PANAJACHEL-GUATEMALA
Chichicastenango is famous for its Indian open air market full of color, tradition and mysticism. Free time for shopping and walking around town. Continue to the nearby town of Panajachel located on the shores of beautiful Lake Atitlan for lunch, short visit and free time for walking and shopping around town. Later afternoon return to Guatemala City for accommodation
DAY 13
GUATEMALA
At appropriate time, transfer to Intl Airport to board flight back home.
