After flight arrival in Guatemala City, meeting, assistance and transfer to hotel for accommodation
DAY 2 WEDNESDAY/SATURDAY
GUATEMALA-ANTIGUA-GUATEMALA
After breakfast, enjoy a tour of Guatemala City , the National Palace , Metropolitan Cathedral, Central Plaza , commercial and residential zones. At noon continue with a one hour drive to Antigua Guatemala . Lunch at local restaurant upon arrival. In the afternoon visit among others, the Main Plaza, Cathedral, Captains Palace, San Francisco and Capuchinas Church. Late afternoon return to Guatemala City for accommodation.
DAY 3 THURSDAY/SUNDAY
GUATEMALA-CHICHICASTENANGO-PANAJACHEL-GUATEMALA
Early departure to the town of Chichicastenango , famous for its Indian open air market full of color, tradition and mysticism. Free time for shoping and walking around town. Continue to the nearby town of Panajachel located on the shores of beautiful Lake Atitlan for lunch, short visit and free time for walking and shopping around town. Later afternoon return to Guatemala City for accommodation.
DAY 4 FRIDAY/MONDAY
GUATEMALA
(OPTIONAL TO SANTIGO OR TOUR TO TIKAL RUINS)
Free day for leisure or optional to Santiago or Tikal National Park.
TOUR OF SANTIAGO ATITLAN : Take a three hour drive to Panajachel; short walk to the public dock. Sail over Lake Atitlan with the breathtaking view of three volcanoes, visit the picturesque town of Santiago and its colorful market and church. Return to Panajachel for lunch and late afternoon transfer to Guatemala City for accommodation.
TOUR OF TIKAL RUINS: Very early transfer to airport to board flight to Flores Peten. Upon arrival local operators will transfer you to Tikal National Park , the largest of the Mayan world. Enjoy a full day tour of the Central Plaza , Temple IV , V and other interesting sites. Pick-nick lunch inside the park and in the afternoon, tour of the Mayan Art Museum . Return to Flores airport for flight to Guatemala City . Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for accommodation.
DAY 5 SATURDAY/TUESDAY
GUATEMALA
At appropriate time, transfer to Intl Airport to board flight back home.
